GARY PETRY
Principal
Position and Role
Based in Dallas, Texas, as Principal, Gary Petry leads a talented design studio comprised of highly experienced professionals in the completion of design and construction documentation. Gary is the daily point of contact for projects from concept through completion. He works closely with in-house quality control personnel and assists the team in producing a quality set of drawings and documents. He is instrumental in keeping the foodservice design team on schedule to meet all milestone deliverable dates.
Background
Gary brings thirty years of experience in foodservice operations and design to the RND team. A seasoned restaurant manager, he quickly transitioned into the foodservice equipment distribution channel, specializing in project management and design build projects in the Texas and southern regional marketplace for over 20 years. Gary’s professional design experience includes restaurants, corporate dining, university, healthcare, and theme park facilities, bringing a unique depth of knowledge of site coordination and installation needs to the firm.
DAVID CHISLETT - PRINCIPAL
Position and Role
Based in Denver, Colorado as Principal, leads a talented design studio comprised of highly experienced professionals in the completion of design and construction documentation. David is the daily-point-of-contact for projects and coordinates schedules and design deliverables. He works closely with in-house Quality Control personnel and assists the team in producing a quality set of drawings and documents. He is instrumental in keeping the foodservice design team on schedule to meet all milestone deliverable dates.
David is involved from conceptual design through construction administration and is available to all team members to provide information on foodservice design issues for the duration of a project.
Background
David brings over 28 years of operations, design and project management experience to the development of foodservice and hospitality facilities. His background as an executive chef, corporate food and beverage director, and hotel design/construction director combine to provide clients with a unique "hands-on" approach to design. He has a keen understanding of the needs of chefs and managers and knows first-hand what it takes to create a successful operation from conception to opening.
David recently joined Ricca Newmark Design after a successful term with an internationally known food service design firm where he was responsible for completing numerous projects in almost every segment of the industry. He is currently also serving as an adjunct instructor at Johnson and Wales University Denver teaching Foodservice Design and Analysis in The Hospitality College. David is based in Denver, Colorado serving Ricca Newmark Design clients throughout the South West.

THOMAS
D. RICCA, FFCSI
Chairman
Position
and Role
As Chairman of the combined companies, Tom shares the overall management
of the business with the four partners, leads the strategic planning
efforts, and focuses on marketing issues. He teaches our senior and
junior staff in the concepts of good foodservice design, customer service
and personal effectiveness. He reviews and critiques many of the plan
concepts before presentation to clients and actively designs many of
our current projects. Tom actively participates in NACUFS, NACAS, ACUI,
and NEWH.
Background
In 1973, Tom fused his education in Architecture and Hotel and Restaurant
Management with his practical experience in Foodservice operations and
formed Thomas Ricca Associates. This unique sensitivity to both form
and function, with equal empathy for the architectural vision and the
day-to-day needs of a foodservice staff, found immediate success and
the firm was generally acknowledged as one of the most innovative foodservice
design firms in the country.
By
the turn of the millennium, the core values of the firm remained the
same. It had grown into one of the largest 3 or 4 firms in the world,
and Tom merged Thomas Ricca Associates with Newmark Diercks Design,
a Nationally renowned Interior Design Firm to form Ricca Newmark Design.
Achievements
Tom acted as the lead designer or design reviewer on virtually all of
the firm's 22 national award-winning projects.

JOANNE MCGILLVRAY

As Principal, Joanne initiates design concepts and leads the project team through the full scope of the interior design process. She leads presentations and is the primary client contact from space planning through construction. She is skilled at managing budgets, writing clear specifications, and developing exciting, responsive interior environments.
Background
Joanne brings all her delightful British perspective to projects, which blends with a marvelous array of design experience. Her extensive credentials in all dimensions of Hospitality are augmented with her work in Collegiate Dining, Healthcare, Arenas, Retail Stores, and Corporate Design. With Ricca Newmark Design since 1999, Joanne has completed many highly regarded projects for hotels in the Marriott, Sheraton, Hyatt, and Hilton collections.

As a full partner of Ricca Newmark Design, Carl participates in all
management policy and strategic planning for the firm.
As
President of Interior Design, Carl leads a talented studio of highly
experienced architectural and interior design professionals. He coordinates
project schedules and design deliverables and establishes and maintains
the standards of quality of all documentation.
Background
In 1991, after 14 years as a design principal with a nationally renowned
Restaurant and Hotel Design Firm, Carl became one of the founding partners
of Newmark Diercks Design Incorporated (NDDI). He now has over 25 years
experience with helping to create hotel, food and beverage outlets that
compete successfully with local freestanding restaurants, and hotel
interiors that are timeless.
During
Newmark Diercks' 10 years in practice, the firm developed a national
reputation for both high quality design and the best documentation process
among leading hospitality interior designers. They consistently met
budgets and schedules while completing projects for four and five-star
hotels, resorts and conference centers.
In
2001, Newmark Diercks Design merged with Thomas Ricca Associates, one
of the leading foodservice design firms in the country, to form Ricca
Newmark Design and the combined talents are already demonstrating the
benefits of a "holistic" approach to Hospitality Design, as
well as, higher education.

CALLNIN - PRINCIPAL
As Principal, Sean supports the Partner-in-Charge in all phases of the
project, with specific responsibility in managing the documentation,
scheduling of resources, and inter-disciplinary coordination to assure
the projects success. His design talents allow him to assist with design
refinement, equipment selection, utilities and budget management and
the publication of specifications. He assures that quality control and
interior peer reviews occur on each project.
Background
Sean joined Ricca Newmark Design early in 2002, with over 13 years of
experience in foodservice design and development. Sean's experience
includes all aspects of programming and concept design, through contract
documents, construction administration and final inspection.
Projects
on which he had worked include healthcare, sports and public assembly
facilities, colleges and universities, business and industry, primary
and secondary schools, prisons, hotels, and restaurants.
While
with another foodservice design firm, Sean managed major convention
center projects in Atlantic City, Boston, Springfield, MA; Arena projects
in Oklahoma City, Las Vegas, Green Bay, Boston University; and Stadium
projects for the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers.

documentation. Lenny acts as the daily-point-of-contact for projects

with in-house Quality Control personnel and assists the team in producing
a quality set of drawings and documents. He is instrumental in keeping
the foodservice design team on schedule to meet all milestone deliverable
dates.
Background
Lenny brings twenty-six years of experience in dining services, facilities
planning and operations management, and a proven track record bringing
projects in on time, within budget and maintaining industry standards.
Prior
to joining Thomas Ricca Associates, he was Director of Operations and
Special Events for Downtown Disney, in Anaheim, CA. There, Lenny led
the department and tenants during the construction phase through turnover,
including grand opening and day-to-day operations. He was responsible
for opening 22 retail, 8 dining, 3 entertainment and 8 service locations
at Disneyland.
Before
working with Disneyland Resort, Lenny was Associate Director for Harvard
University Dining Services for nine years. He was responsible for board
and catering operations, including twelve under-graduate houses and
the freshmen-dining program. At Harvard, Lenny had both operational
and facility improvement responsibilities, including extensive renovation
of the central kitchen, bakery, freshmen dining, and retail venues.
As Interim Director, he assumed control of a $32 million annual budget
and the service of 25,000 meals daily via the dining halls, twelve campus
restaurants, a catering department, a kosher program, and patient feeding.
KATHLEEN
H. SEELYE, FFCSI

As a full partner of Ricca Newmark Design, Kathleen participates in
all management policy and strategic planning for the firm.
As
President of Foodservice Design, Kathleen presides over the seven design
studios that formerly made up Thomas Ricca Associates. She also acts
as design principal on many active projects and maintains the New York
Office.
Background
Kathleen has been directly involved in designing and selecting equipment
in the foodservice industry since 1979, and has been with this firm
since 1984. Her expertise in designing for higher education, healthcare,
corporate and hospitality facilities is unsurpassed in our profession.
Her role in innovating such leading design concepts such as marketplaces,
emporiums, cyber-cafes and central production systems has made her one
of the most highly demanded speakers at national and regional conventions
for trade associates. She actively participates in NACUFS, HFM, ASFSA,
and ASHFSA.

Chape

Background
Chape brings over 20 years of design and project management experience

in conceptualization and planning, with the broad technical expertise
in developing complex spaces, has been recognized with three design
awards. He has a keen understanding of the team development process
and in the creation of the multi-disciplinary synergy necessary for
a project's success.
Chape
spent 5 years with Thomas Ricca Associates before his 9 years at Sodhexo/Marriott
Services, and returned to this firm in 2000. As Director of Design Management
for Sodexho/Marriott Services (SMS), Chape provided design and consulting
support to the over 4,800 accounts managed by SMS, and design over 200
foodservice facilities in his nine years there. Chape is based in suburban
Washington DC, serving Ricca Newmark Design clients throughout the East.
Kenneth
J. MacGregor

Chief Operating Officer
Position
and Role
As Partner, Ken participates in all management policy and strategic
planning for the firm, and as Chief Operating Officer, he is responsible
for the finance, administration, computer systems and marketing coordination
of Ricca Newmark Design.
Background
Since 1983, Kenneth MacGregor has held Senior Financial Management positions
with small to medium sized corporations. Fourteen years of that experience
has been dedicated to managing all business activities for Hospitality
Design Firms
In
1991, he joined with Carl Newmark and Gloria Diercks to form Newmark
Diercks Design Incorporated and helped build that firm into one of the
leading Hospitality Design Firms in the country. Newmark Diercks was
named one of the 20 "Interior Design Giants" for 8 of their
10 years.
In
2001, Ken led the effort to bring Newmark Diercks together with Thomas
Ricca Associates to form Ricca Newmark Design.
