HOTEL COLORADO
Glenwood Springs, CO

Project Description
Hotel Colorado, the 114-year-old historic hotel in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, once frequented by the likes of Al Capone and President Theodore Roosevelt, recently underwent a $2.4 million restoration, revitalizing the hotel to its original stature. Completed in November of 2006, Ricca Newmark Design transformed the lobby and restaurant into welcoming spaces, where guests and daily visitors could both relax and interact with ease. After extensive research, the interior design team at RND went straight to work creating the vision of a “mountain Victorian” theme, restoring the original pine floors and wall colors, and relocating the restaurant to an interior area where it is now showcased between the two grand staircases. Additionally, Ricca Newmark Design’s foodservice design team developed a 346 square foot bar, The Polo Wine and Martini Lounge, and made renovations to the hotel’s kitchen.
